Trying to make a habit of it.
So, I didn't really feel much like writing today. I don't have a topic that I feel particularly inspired to write about today. Still, I'm trying to make blogging into a habit, and part of that is getting myself to write a little, even when I don't particularly feel like it.
It wasn't a particularly bad day or anything. Work was pretty typical, as we package the next release next week, the product team was focused on release-end testing. It can be a little tedious, but we do catch a fair amount of bugs in the process, so I certainly see the value. I'm also starting to participate in a new mentoring program at the company. I'm enjoying the opportunity to work with the Global Client Success team to learn more about how our clients use our software, I think it will help me see the value in what I do (since I don't have much contact with our users, I often feel disconnected with the outcomes of my work).
This evening I went through a lot of the mess in my study. When filing away some papers, I came across a letter my grandmother sent me more than a decade ago. It included a recipe from her aunt (my great-great aunt), so I decided to add it to my site, the Old Fashioned Swiss Potato Sausage Soup. I don't think we've ever made this, so I think I'll give it a try.
